Lorna Shaw

Lorna Shaw serves as the Government Relations Director for Newmont Corporation. With 20 years of mining experience, Shaw previously worked in Alaska at Sumitomo’s Pogo Mine and for Kinross at its Fort Knox Mine and other North American operations. She served as the executive director of the Council of Alaska Producers, a trade association for large-scale hard rock mines and projects in Alaska, where she spearheaded a successful  $10 million campaign to beat the state's first anti-mining ballot initiative. She also served as president of the Alaska Miners Association.

Shaw holds graduate and undergraduate business degrees from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Prior to joining the mining industry, she served for a number of years staff to elected officials at the state and federal levels.
