Barbara Coppola

Barbara Coppola is Director of Duke Energy's Customer Delivery Regulatory and Planning Support team.   She is responsible for leading the regulatory and planning activities for grid improvement plans for Duke Energy's regulated companies.  She has held several positions in Customer Delivery over the last five years in grid architecture and capital investment strategy.

Previously, Barbara was responsible for development and implementation of renewable energy customer offers and investment opportunities for Duke Energy's regulated companies.  She was responsible for managing Duke Energy's fuel transportation logistics for commodities with a market value of $3B and for developing successful customer and asset strategies as they relate to optimization and maintenance of rail and barge assets.  She has operational experience in fuel strategy and procurement, sales and marketing of fuel byproducts, and power generation engineering.

Prior to joining Duke Energy, Barbara worked in a number of industries including main frame computer reliability, landscape irrigation product and process development, and medical device manufacturing.

Coppola earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and her Master of Science in Management from North Carolina State University.  She also completed the Strategic Leadership Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Barbara is Past President of The Women's Mining Coalition and Past President of The Coal Institute.
