Jason Bostic

Jason BosticJason Bostic, a native of Cabin Creek, West Virginia was appointed Executive Vice President of the West Virginia Coal Association since 2021.  Previously he served as Vice-President of the Coal Association since August 2007.  Prior to his promotion to VP, Jason served as the Regulatory Affairs Specialist for the Association beginning in 2000.  Prior to joining WVCA, he worked for one of the largest metallurgical coal producers in the country as a management trainee. 

Jason worked in the mining industry as a coal miner while attending West Virginia Institute of Technology.  In his current position he has primary responsibility for all environmental issues related to the West Virginia coal mining industry, serves as the assigned staff member for the Association’s extremely active Environmental-Technical Committee and represents the industry on environmental related mining topics before the West Virginia Legislature, the U.S. Congress and the various state and federal agencies that regulate coal mining. 

Jason is also responsible for the Association’s coal market and transportation research activities for domestic and export steam and metallurgical coal.  He also coordinates the Association’s electronic and social media outlets as part of the industry’s public outreach programs.  Jason serves as a gubernatorial appointee on seven state boards and commissions.
